Mission

If a young person is given the proper tools and guidance they will be able to succeed in whatever area they choose. Many factors play a role in the success of youth: As an organization, For the Love of the Arts Inc. has created a curriculum that is centered on the above aspects and rooted in our core values putting our best efforts into every young person who enters the doors of our program. We are centered around the word love because in a time where youth have access to so many different viewpoints we believe that only love of self, learning, and community will ensure a better future for us all. Young people will not be young forever; they will go on to lead.

Goals

For the Love of the Arts Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing youth violence and crime by providing fine arts mentorship and life skills courses focusing on social skills and mental wellness. Our ultimate goal is to change the negative statistics plaguing the nations youth into favorable ones. We believe we can change the tide with positive reinforcement and a safe place to express their artistic side.

History

For the Love of the Arts was founded in 2015 by Sade' Carrasquillo when her passion for the arts and young people found purpose. The first location in Hammond Indiana quickly evolved into providing services for the East Chicago school district through a partnership with Communities in Schools Of Lake County. Throughout the years we have adapted to the needs of the communities we serve. Not only does Love of the Arts impact students but it provides an outlet for quality artists to teach as instructors of our programs. What sets our organization apart is our focus on life skills, social skills, and mental wellness. We provide our students with necessary skills to become productive adults who aspire to create and one day teach others in some capacity
